SI International : Audience Marines
The Marines had a two-week onsite course that taught how to administer Marine reservists living needs including pay, dependents, housing, service and unit records, and even different duty types. Instructor and inspector personnel were overburdened due to lack of trained Reservist administrators.
With a high need for training projected, we studied the viability and strategies for distance learning approaches that could be accessed by Marines, both in peace and wartime situations. Our feasibility task analysis provided planning and redesign of a two-week-six-workshop course with online Web distribution. Deliverables included a contract performance plan, job task analysis, learning objectives, content analysis, content allocation plan, blended media and implementation plans. Finally, in a second tasking, we participated in the storyboarding and development of the course. Features of this course were performance support tools, avatars and animation, and demonstrations. This course met 508 accessibility considerations. The project enabled the client to reach a wider audience in a timely manner, provided first time and refresher training on-demand, and reduced costs from their two-week resident course.

This work was key to my client receiving and moving on to the design/development phases of the project tasking. For more WBT and web-based conferencing (WCT) take a look at our Blended Project Samples.
