The Associated General Contractors of America.

Imagine the benefits of creating a virtual model of a building prior to actual construction--this is called Building Information Modeling (BIM). The various building systems such as electricity, plumbing, ductwork, etc. would be present. Building sequence for planning is animated showing coordination and scheduling tasks, and surfacing possible scheduling conflicts among the trades. Materials costs are factored in, and actual construct-ability of the plans show in 3D how everything works together.

Working with some of the top subject matter experts in the field, we created a two-day, interactive and applied workshop about the project issues and implications of BIM. We provided project management and planning, instructional design, technical writing, materials and media development, flyers, and chapter guidelines.The program helps participants hit the ground running in their selection of BIM tools and processes implementation.

This course is planned for a certification program, and is offered through the association chapters and other educational institutions across the country.

 

 

American Society of Association Executives (ASAE)

ISDS was asked to present programs about current trends in Instructional design to the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).  This presentation described, and fielded questions, about the changing landscape of eLearning instructional design and what’s on the development plates for  non-profit, corporate, and government organizations.
